Today was Traditions which is the big training day every new Disney employee has to attend. Traditions is, I'll admit, mostly dry information, but it was still a fairly entertaining day. The day takes place in the Disney University building, which was a new experience. Great Disney parks and animation pictures line the hallways, and ceiling tiles are pulled aside every several yards with a Disney character falling through each. Also there is a gift shop just for employees where you can get some exceptionally cheap stuff. After our initial info session, we loaded up the bus to the Magic Kingdom.
En route we passed behind the Fantasyland expansion which was a LOT of fun to see, and I finally got to experience the Utilidors (the employee tunnels beneath the Magic Kingdom). We popped back up on Main Street and walked to Fantasyland before returning below and heading back for the second half of class.
At the end of the day I walked out with a wealth of information, a Donald Duck figurine, and (most importantly) my Disney ID and name tag, delivered by Mickey himself! Now I need to sleep off a headache OR go get essentials at Walmart OR catch IllumiNations, my favorite nighttime show, at Epcot (which I can do for free now. :D). Decisions, decisions...
So you'll send me something awesome for my birthday! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'll get you a real nice keychain. ;)
